Steve Hess is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Corporate Department.

Steve received his JD from Harvard Law School. While attending, he was involved with the Harvard Association for Law and Business, the Harvard Business Law Review, and the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project. He also served as a teaching assistant in Harvard College’s Economics Department.

Prior to joining Latham full-time, Steve was a summer associate in the Los Angeles office. He previously served as an intern in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance. He also worked as an auditor at an international consulting firm.

Steve is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California.

Steve's experience includes advising:

  • Lineage, Inc. in its US$4.4 billion initial public offering of 56,882,051 shares of common stock listed on Nasdaq—the largest initial public offering ever by a REIT
  • The initial purchaser in connection with BlackLine, Inc.’s offering of US$600 million of 1.00% convertible senior notes
  • The underwriters in connection with Gilead Sciences, Inc.’s offering of US$3.5 billion of senior unsecured notes
