Tom Channing is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Tom advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate matters.

He trained in the firm’s London and Moscow offices, gaining experience in corporate, capital markets, private equity, and project finance transactions.

Tom’s experience includes advising:

  • Leaders Romans Group, a portfolio company of Platinum Equity, on the acquisition of Stirling Ackroyyd, a London-based sales, lettings and surveying business
  • L Catterton on its acquisition of a significant minority stake in Butternut Box, Europe’s largest fresh dog food brand
  • Ares on the sale to Aldar Properties of London Square, a London-based housing developer 
  • Ares on its acquisition of SLR Global, a UK-based ESG consultancy and advisory business
  • capital D, a  private equity fund manager, on the sale of Qmee, the UK-based app survey platform and fraud prevention technology provider, to Kantar
  • L Catterton Europe on the acquisition of a significant minority shareholding in Little Moons, a premium dessert brand in the UK
  • Authentic Brands Group on its strategic partnership with David Beckham’s global brand
  • Astorg Partners on the acquisition of Opus 2, a legal technology provider
  • Ares on the sale of Farrow & Ball, the iconic paint company, to Hempel Group
  • Ares on the acquisition of the Exemplar Health Care Group, the leading UK provider of high-dependency nurse-led care for adults
  • Hedosophia European Growth on its €400 million SPAC IPO and listing on Euronext Amsterdam 
  • Diversified Gas & Oil on its transfer from the AIM Market to the Main Market (Premium Segment) of the London Stock Exchange and its US$86 million placing
  • CVC and Domestic & General on a dual-track IPO/M&A sale process, which culminated in the sale by CVC Fund V of its interests in the Domestic & General Group to CVC Fund VII and Luxinva S.A., a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
  • The joint global co-ordinators and joint bookrunners on the £152 million cash box placing by Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc, the luxury carmaker
  • Astorg on the sale and reinvestment in Audiotonix, a premier audio-mixing consoles provider
  • BC Partners on its sale of Antelliq Corporation, a France-based developer of digital animal identification, traceability, and monitoring solutions, to Merck
