Timi Afolami is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Timi represents clients, predominantly private companies and private equity funds, in acquisitions, disposals, minority investments and general corporate matters and transactions. Timi has also advised publicly listed companies on a various of corporate transactions.

Prior to qualification, Timi trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, financial regulation, and restructuring matters. Timi also spent time on secondment to Goldman Sachs.

Timi has also spent time on secondment to Bridgepoint following qualification.

Timi’s experience includes advising:

  • Aztec Group on its strategic partnership with Warburg Pincus, resulting in Warburg Pincus becoming a minority shareholder and key client of Aztec Group.
  • Bridgepoint and CPP Investments on the €4.2 billion sale of Dorna Sports, the international sports management, media, and marketing company, to Liberty Media
  • A mid-market PE fund on its minority sale (and subsequent reinvestment) into a technology audio-visual company
  • Notion Capital on its Series A investment into Cogna, an AI-driven SaaS software solutions business
  • Notion Capital on its Series A investment into Ferovinum, a technology platform for wine and spirits producers.
  • SolGold plc on its US$36 million placing of 180,000 new ordinary shares to four investors.
  • The UK Sponsor to Capital & Counties Properties PLC in connection with the merger between Shaftesbury and Capital & Counties Properties PLC.
  • Novolex, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, on its acquisition of Vegware, a UK-based recyclable packaging company
  • The joint global coordinators, joint bookrunners, and sponsor on Made.com’s £775 million initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange
  • Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and others in connection with the US$11 billion direct listing of Wise, Europe’s first direct listing by a technology company
