Whether the matter involves responding to a federal investigation, working with Congress, developing federal policy, litigating against or alongside the government, or other engagement with the federal government, Latham has the knowledge and depth of experience to guide clients to successful outcomes.
The Latham team includes those who have served as senior government officials in the administrations of both major US political parties, including a former Solicitor General of the United States, two former Assistant Attorneys General for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, and former General Counsels from the Departments of Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, as well as the Office of Management and Budget. In addition, Latham partners have substantive experience garnered from years of service in senior roles at the White House and at Executive Branch agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Interior and Justice, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency.
Latham partners have also served in senior roles at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. With respect to the Congress, Latham partners have served in key roles on Capitol Hill, including on the staff of several high-profile Senate and House investigations.
