Latham Named US Law Firm of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been named US Law Firm of the Year at the 2020 Legal Business Awards. The annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements by law firms, legal teams, and individuals in the legal profession.

Legal Business praised Latham for having “one of the most potent European practices of any US player” and highlighted the firm’s role on a number of high-profile transactions, including advising on Spotify’s groundbreaking direct listing on the NYSE, advising the lead committee of creditors of Steinhoff on its €9 billion restructuring, advising EQT on the financing for the negotiations to acquire Nestlé Skin Health, and advising CPPIB on the acquisition of Merlin, then the largest ever take-private in the UK.

Latham was also shortlisted in the Corporate Social Responsibility category in recognition of the firm’s pro bono initiatives in Europe.
