Eric Bernthal retired from the partnership in November 2012. He has provided general corporate counseling and strategic advice to clients for nearly 40 years. He has specialized in transactional matters, having led deal teams through hundreds of transactions of all size and complexity, and he has advised corporate clients (both public and privately held) on the full range of governance, litigation, regulatory and financial matters.

Eric's experience has centered on the telecommunications industry. He has represented hundreds of radio and television stations in all facets of their transactional, corporate, financial, litigation and regulatory needs. He has also represented programming services, networks, trade associations, cellular telephone companies, communications investors and lenders, vendors and others (including management executives and on-air talent) whose businesses and careers connect to the telecommunications industry. He has counseled various boards of directors (including special committees) in connection with significant and sensitive corporate issues.

Eric served as Managing Partner of Latham’s Washington, D.C. office from 2000 to 2011.
