Matthew Piehl is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Matthew is an experienced antitrust advisor. He helps clients obtain regulatory approval of mergers and acquisitions as well as other transactions from competition authorities in the United States, including the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission, and around the world. Matthew also regularly represents companies in government investigations and civil litigation.

Matthew is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section, where he previously served as the Young Lawyer Representative to the Trade, Sports, and Professional Associations and the Mergers & Acquisitions Committees. Matthew is also a member of the American Health Law Association, where he served in the Leadership Development Program with the AHLA’s Antitrust Practice Group. In addition, Matthew is the Chair Emeritus of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Antitrust Section.
