Latham & Watkins and ATX Open Host Kids Day Clinic With Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area

Championship sponsor Latham & Watkins, in partnership with Austin’s largest women’s professional sporting event, recently hosted a youth tennis clinic ahead of the 2025 tournament.

As the best women tennis players in the world come to Austin to compete in the ATX Open this week, Latham & Watkins, the championship sponsor, in partnership with the ATX Open, Austin’s largest women’s professional sporting event, Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) networks hosted a group of local youth for a fun and interactive tennis clinic at the Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area Headquarters on Friday, February 21.

More than 100 kids grades K-12 and family members joined for tennis-based drills and interactive games led by Hologic WTA Tour players, giving them a better understanding of the game of tennis, from court rules to skills training. Participants were also treated to face painting, balloon art, dinner provided by Tacodeli, and a meet and greet with American competing player and No. 7 seed, Katie Volynets.

Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area CEO Zenae Campbell said, “The ATX Open is a terrific event, and we were thrilled to bring the excitement of the tournament right to our Club’s headquarters here in Austin. Our Club members had the incredible opportunity to learn and hear from the pros, and it’s a day we all soon won’t forget.”

The ATX Open is Austin’s only professional tour-level tennis tournament and the city’s largest women’s professional sporting event. The highly anticipated event is part of the Hologic WTA Tour and will feature world-class talent across a singles draw of 32 players and a doubles draw of 16 teams.
