    Álvaro Mata is an associate in the Madrid office of Latham & Watkins.

    He represents national and international clients, including public and private companies and private equity funds in general corporate matters, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. He also assists companies on restructuring processes.

    Experience

    Alvaro’s experience includes advising: 

    • Solum Partners on acquiring Agrupa Lettuce, a leading Spanish agricultural holding company
    • EIG on acquiring a 25% stake in Repsol Upstream, a global oil and gas exploration and production company, for US$4.8 billion
    • Archimed on acquiring AKRN Scientific Consulting, S.L. through its portfolio company North American Science Associates
    • Repsol, a Spanish energy company, in the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Asterion Energies and its subsidiaries located in Spain, France, and Italy 
    • KKR in the restructuring and exit financing of Grupo Gallardo
