Ben Bouwman is an associate in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Ben advises clients on merger control matters, particularly involving the pre-merger notification analysis. His experience includes:

  • Merger control proceedings before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice
  • Premerger notification analysis, including under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act
  • Internal investigations and compliance programs

He helps clients within the software and technology, healthcare and life sciences, internet and digital media, and utilities industries strategically navigate an evolving antitrust regulatory landscape. 

Ben maintains an active pro bono practice, most recently representing individuals seeking asylum and small business entrepreneurs.

Ben’s experience includes representing:

  • ArchiMed Group in its acquisition of Natus Medical Incorporated
  • dbt Labs in its acquisition of Transform Data Inc.
  • A private equity firm in its platform and follow-on acquisitions in the medical billing and collections industry
