Echo Xu is an associate in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Xu represents private equity funds and corporate clients on a wide range of corporate transactions including control acquisitions, public takeovers, joint ventures, and growth capital investments. She advises on transactions within a variety of industries including technology, real estate, healthcare and life sciences, and blockchain and cryptocurrency. 

Ms. Xu’s experience includes advising: 

  • An Asia-headquartered real estate fund on a joint venture in China to develop and operate life-science related incubators, accelerators, and industrial parks in China
  • Warburg Pincus on the acquisition of Bohao Internet Data Services Ltd., a China-based data center company
  • Global Renewable Power on the proposed acquisition of a 20% equity interest in a Hong Kong-listed PRC energy company 
  • A leading state-owned investment firm on an investment into a Hong Kong-based gamification and blockchain leader
  • A private equity investor on the investment on a leading telecom infrastructure company and provider of subsea cable services
  • Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure providers, on its proposed US$200 million strategic investment in Forbes, the iconic business information brand in the US 
  • Hillhouse on the PRC merger control notification for its acquisition of Philips’ domestic-appliances unit*
  • LF International on its acquisition of 40.9% shares of MEIGU Technology and its lapsed mandatory general offer*
