Julia Whitehead is a Litigation & Trial associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.
Julia represents clients in antitrust and environmental litigation matters in federal court. She also advises clients on government reviews of mergers and acquisitions, antitrust compliance and counseling, and government conduct investigations, including merger control proceedings before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Her practice spans a variety of industries, including oil and gas, renewable energy, entertainment, and maritime.
Before joining Latham, Julia clerked for the Honorable David Norton of the US District Court for the District of South Carolina in Charleston from 2022 to 2024. While in law school, Julia worked as a summer associate in Latham’s Washington, D.C. office, as a summer law clerk in the Environment and Land Law division of the California Attorney General’s Office, and as a law clerk at the DOJ Antitrust Division. Prior to law school, Julia was an operations associate at an international development consultancy and worked in renewable energy as a Fulbright Scholar in Mexico.
While in law school, Julia served as Managing Editor of Ecology Law Quarterly and worked as a member of Berkeley’s Environmental Law Clinic.
