Nathaniel Amann is an associate in the San Diego office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Nathaniel advises clients on a wide range of antitrust and competition-related matters, with experience in guiding clients through all stages of the transactional lifecycle, from inception through closing and integration. He has advised on the antitrust risk of potential deals, navigated complex regulatory regimes, addressed multifaceted inquiries from the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, secured antitrust clearances across various industries, provided guidance on post-closing integration, and litigated against the Federal Trade Commission and private parties. He also counsels clients on general antitrust issues, such as product development plans, information sharing practices, and internal monitoring and compliance. 

Nathaniel has represented clients of all types across many industries, including technology, telecommunications, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, energy, chemicals, and retail and consumer goods.

Nathaniel maintains an active pro bono practice, helping immigrants reach a path to citizenship. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated cum laude. At law school, Nathaniel served as managing editor of the American Criminal Law Review, where he also published his note on restitution and the excessive fines clause.
