Nick McCoy is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. McCoy advises private fund sponsors and investors on complex transactions, with a particular emphasis on forming investment funds, secondary transactions, and structuring equity investments.

He also frequently advises sponsors and investors in co-investment programs, strategic partnerships, and separately managed accounts.

Mr. McCoy operates across a wide range of sectors and geographies, including the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. He also regularly advises on:

  • Multi- and single-asset restructurings
  • Stapled secondaries
  • Preferred equity and minority investments
  • Structuring firm ownership and operations
  • Management transitions and compensation arrangements

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. McCoy was an associate in the New York office of another international law firm, where he predominantly represented sponsors and investors in connection with secondary transactions across asset classes and strategies.
