    Profile

    Dr. Philipp Gärtner is an associate in the Munich office of Latham & Watkins. He advises corporations and financial investors on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions , and general corporate law.

    Philipp studied law in Oxford and Munich.

    Prior to joining Latham, he completed his legal training in the corporate departments of another international law firm in Munich, Düsseldorf, and London.

    • Deutsche Bank and Orchard Global Asset Management on the sale of HIT Holzindustrie Torgau to Mercer International Inc.
    • DPE Deutsche Private Equity on €708 million DPE Continuation Fund I

      • The joint acquisition with H&Z of Transform
      • Its investment in H&Z
      • The sale of its stake in ASSEPRO
      • The joint acquisition with Aspire Education Group 
      • The acquisition of a minority stake in Wishcard
      • Its majority investment in Hermann Pipersberg
    • Partners Group on the acquisition of a majority stake in Cloudflight
    • TA Associates on the merger of Chaos and Enscape
