Philipp Guggeis, an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Munich office and member of the Finance Department, advises national and international clients on matters of banking and finance law.

Mr. Guggeis represents banks, debt funds, private equity funds, and corporate borrowers in a range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions including:

  • Acquisition finance
  • Direct lending (including unitranche/super senior structures)
  • Leveraged buyouts
  • Structured finance
  • Corporate finance

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Guggeis gained experience in the finance departments of other major international law firms in London.

He is a member of the Munich Bar Association.

Mr. Guggeis' experience includes advising:

  • International syndicate of banks on a €2 billion credit facility for Fresenius
  • Syndicate of banks on a €2 billion credit facility for Fresenius Medical Care
  • Trilantic on the financing of the acquisition of Smile Eyes Group
