Scott Rothstein is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins in the Litigation & Trial Department.

Scott represents clients in a variety of complex business disputes and class actions in federal and state courts. His clients consist of financial institutions, corporations, publicly traded companies, and individuals across a variety of industries, including public accounting, tech, healthcare, and financial.  Scott also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum.

Prior to joining Latham, Scott served as a law clerk for Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Judge Paul J. Kelly, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Before law school, Scott worked as an auditor and forensic accountant at a public accounting firm. 

Scott’s experience includes:

  • Securing a complete dismissal of RICO claims against KPMG relating to the collapse of a former financial institution client.
  • Achieving a complete dismissal of RICO claims against Connext Labs, a cryptographic key holder, in federal class action relating to a DeFi bridge hack of US$186 million in digital assets.
  • Representing Crowe LLP, a major accounting and auditing firm, in multistate litigation involving professional liability claims related to GPB Capital and various GPB funds.
  • Representing Funko, a pop culture collectibles manufacturer, and its officers and directors in a variety of securities class actions and derivative litigations.
