Sebastian von Hornung is an associate in the Munich office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice.

Mr. von Hornung advises clients on their complex domestic and cross-border real estate matters, including:

  • Share deals 
  • Portfolio transactions across all asset classes, including office, retail, and logistics

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. von Hornung worked for more than four years in the real estate department of another international law firm.

Mr. von Hornung’s experience includes advising:

  • Aermont in the €800 million sale of Marienturm, a high-rise building in Frankfurt, to DWS/NPS and the sale of neighbouring office building Marienforum to Generali*
  • Apollo on:
    • The €1 billion investment in the Northern Portfolio (residential real estate portfolio controlled by Vonovia)
    • The €1 billion investment in the Suedewo Portfolio (residential real estate portfolio controlled by Vonovia)
  • Blackstone on the:
    • Acquisition of numerous logistics assets and portfolios worth billions of euros*
    • €12.25 billion sale of logistics platform Logicor*
  • BNP Paribas REIM on acquiring office buildings Deichtor Office Center in Hamburg, Franklin Haus in Berlin, and Kallmorgen Tower in Hamburg, as well as several healthcare objects*
  • Digital Realty on a US$7 billion joint venture with Blackstone to develop hyperscale data centers
  • LaSalle Investment Management in its:
    • Acquisition of office building Morrow in Frankfurt*
    • Acquisition of real estate portfolio ElseBella in Munich*
  • MEAG, the real estate asset manager of Munich RE, in its €400 million acquisition of retail portfolio Touchdown*
  • NAS Invest in its:
    • Acquisition of an office and retail property in Kaiserstraße in Frankfurt am Main (Drei-Kaiser-Bau)*
    • Acquisition of an office building in Offenbach*
  • Union Investment in its:
    • Bidding process to acquire the Millennium portfolio from Generali Lebensversicherung, with a value exceeding €2.5 billion*
    • Acquisition of the Medicus portfolio, comprising six mixed-use properties in Berlin and Düsseldorf*
    • Acquisition of Media Works, and the new German patent and trademark office in Munich, both with volumes exceeding €500 million*
    • Acquisition of Ericus-Contor in Hamburg*
  • WealthCap on the conclusion of a joint venture for residential properties with Domicil and for retail properties with BBE*
