Taylor López is an associate in the Houston office of Latham & Watkins.

Taylor represents domestic and international clients in energy-related transactions, with a particular emphasis on greenfield and brownfield project development in LNG, industrial power, and energy-transition matters.

He advises clients on a broad range of matters relating to project development within the energy sector, including full spectrum services from project inception through final completion and operations. As part of his practice, Taylor also has additional experience in joint-venture formation and corporate structuring.

Taylor maintains an active pro bono practice, most recently representing individuals seeking asylum from adverse conditions in Latin America.

Before joining Latham, Taylor was a senior associate on the global projects team of an international law firm.

  • Alder Midstream – Project counsel for development of the Texas LNG terminal, including representation regarding equity and debt structuring and commercialization of the facility
  • Delfin LNG – Project counsel with respect to the equity and debt financing of the Delfin LNG multi-vessel floating LNG project
  • The Clinton Foundation – Lead project counsel regarding an Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) arrangement to improve the energy efficiency of the client’s premises
  • MidOcean Energy – Project counsel regarding the development of MidOcean’s LNG portfolio, including offtake arrangements and project sponsorship opportunities
  • Cubico Sustainable Investments – Lead project counsel in the development of a portfolio of solar and wind projects for Cubico
  • Yara International ASA – Project counsel in the evaluation and development of Yara’s export capabilities in the Gulf of America
  • Vanguard Renewables – Project counsel for the development of a portfolio of new-build RNG facilities, including negotiation with public and private offtakers
  • ExxonMobil – Project counsel for expansion of the Baytown facility with joint venture partners for new hydrogen and ammonia assets
  • ONEOK, Inc. – Lead project counsel in the development of a joint venture with Marathon Petroleum for the development of a brownfield LPG export facility in Texas City and associated pipeline infrastructure
  • Golar LNG Limited – Project counsel in the development of a repositioned floating LNG facility in Argentina
  • Breakthrough Energy Catalyst Foundation – Project counsel in the development of a portfolio of early-stage investments in energy transition projects throughout the United States
  • Apollo Management, L.P. – Project counsel for the development of a new-build computer chip manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom
  • Sempra Energy – Project counsel for development of the ECA LNG project in Mexico*
