Latham & Watkins Adds Experienced Capital Markets Partner in London
Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Shawn Anderson has re-joined the London office as a partner in the Capital Markets Practice. Anderson advises private equity sponsors, companies, and investment banks on a variety of complex, multi-jurisdictional capital markets transactions, including debt and equity offerings and acquisition financings, with a particular focus on high-yield debt securities.
“We are delighted to welcome Shawn back to the firm,” said Stephen Kensell, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ London office. “His practice, connections, and expertise are highly complementary to the firm’s capabilities in London and globally, and he will add important depth to our market-leading transactional practices in the City.”
Anderson also regularly advises companies, including foreign private issuers, on securities law compliance and corporate governance issues, and in restructurings and private financings.
“The firm has a preeminent reputation for advising on innovative transactions across the full spectrum of high yield debt products in Europe,” said Brett Cassidy, Local Corporate Department Chair in London. “Shawn has extensive experience working with leading private equity firms and their portfolio companies, public companies, investment banks, and direct lender clients on a variety of complex debt and equity financings, and he will play an important role in the continued growth and success of our market leading practice in Europe.”
“Latham’s unmatched global ability to transition between all forms of senior and subordinated loans, bonds, and hybrid capital structures gives the firm a unique vantage point at the cutting edge of the market,” said Ian Schuman, Global Chair of the firm’s Capital Markets and Public Companies Practices. “Shawn is highly regarded, with excellent technical skills and a compelling mix of lender, issuer, and sponsor-side experience that are the hallmarks of our global practice. He is a great fit for the team.”
Anderson re-joins Latham from Kirkland & Ellis. He received a BA, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University, and a JD, cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
