Alex Park is an associate in the Seoul office of Latham & Watkins. 

Alex’s practice focuses on a variety of corporate matters, including technology, data privacy, cybersecurity, telecommunications, intellectual property, and regulatory matters. 

Alex’s experience includes assisting in the representation of clients in relation to cross-border data privacy compliance, with a focus on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the French Data Protection Act, and data protection laws in the APAC region.

Alongside data privacy, Alex also has experience assisting in the representation of clients in relation to regulatory compliance issues relating to telecommunications, e-commence, information technology, and cybersecurity. She also assists in matters in relation to commercial law, intellectual property, and on M&A transactions, as well as blockchain and NFT-related matters. 

Alex’s clients spans various sectors, with a principal focus on technology, mobility, gaming, telecommunications, entertainment, and fintech. 

Prior to joining Latham, Alex worked at an international law firm as an associate, focusing on IP/IT and data and as a legal officer in an international non-governmental organization, researching and managing advocacy strategies related to new technologies, privacy, and freedom of expression, and leading their UN advocacy program. 

Alex is qualified to practice as an Avocat in Paris and before the New York Bar. She is not registered as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Korea.

  • A global technology company in relation to its European privacy, and platform regulation compliance program and European Electronic Communications Code compliance for cloud services and gaming products
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. in relation to the company’s data privacy and regulatory matters including advising on compliance with the French Telecommunications Act and French Data Protection Act and other product offerings in France
  • A PRC-based gaming company with its compliance with European consumer protection laws
  • Imerys, the world leader in mineral-based specialty solutions for industry, in its exclusive negotiations to sell its High Temperature Solutions business (HTS) to Platinum Equity
  • Worldline, the European leader in payments services, in the proposed binding offer by Apollo funds to acquire its Terminals, Solutions & Services business (TSS)
  • Karnov Group in the context of its offer to acquire the legal information businesses of Thomson Reuters in Spain and Wolters Kluwer in Spain and France
  • Lagardère News in connection with the minting and distribution of NFTs linked to celebrity photographs taken by Jean-Claude Deutsch
  • A French gaming company in connection with the launch of their NFT-based game and platform
  • A variety of private equity clients in connection to data privacy and intellectual property issues arising in the context of private equity and merger and acquisition transactions
