Sara Castiglia is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.
Sara represents clients in civil litigation and in internal investigations. She also assists companies in navigating the process of securing national security clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Sara maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing incarcerated clients pursuing eighth amendment claims and wrongfully convicted individuals in post-conviction proceedings.
Sara served as a law clerk to Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman on the Northern District of Illinois.
Prior to joining Latham, Sara was a summer associate in the Washington, D.C. office and served as a judicial intern for Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in the District Court of the District of Columbia.
She received her JD with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review and the Federal Criminal Justice Clinic. She also played the piano for the Law School Musical Band.
Before law school, Sara graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Georgetown University. At Georgetown, she majored in government and had minors in economics and music.
